NOVA, a test project

The proyect is about a game searcher to help the user to find new, old, independent and popular games, with clear cathegories and the possibility to link all related accounts (Twitch, Steam, Google, etc). It includes also a news portal for gamers.


It would be designed only for its desktop version, with the focus on the identity and being user friendly.

This excersice was very useful for many reasons, besides the need to enter to a new company:
 

  • It helped me to bring back everything I learned about UX process (after working with Dietas Cormillot, which was mostly UI).

  • It served as a real time challenge: I had to go through the entire UX/UI roadmap (except for the interactive part) in just 2 weeks.
    

  • It gave me the chance to know much more about gaming and streaming platforms from the UX perspective, and made me feel closer to the world I’m interested in :)

  • Last but not least, it led me to achieve my goal: a new job in the gaming industry!

Let’s talk about gaming

Hypothesis: Why would we need this product?

This project took place during the quarantine time, therefore, confinement time. 
As a result, tech and entertainment industries had to advance at great speed, resulting in a booming gaming community, also growing rapidly in Latin America.

So, we have a large and varied number of platforms, events and growing communities that can generate a certain FOMO and anxiety in users, who have to focus on several things at the same time in order not to miss out on any news or any game that may interest them.

As usual, the proyect had to start with some UX research to have clear goals.

The UX research was intense and long but fortunately everything was under control.

This process was done with the help of platforms like Optimal Workshop and Whimsical.
